In an effort to incentivize Americans to make more environmentally-conscious, energy-efficient decisions when it comes to the products and appliances within their homes, the U.S. Government recently announced the Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit, an eco-driven federal tax credit designed to reward homeowners who use solar-powered systems, including gate access systems.
Driven by the ever-growing popularity of residential gates, which elevate the home's perceived value and aesthetics while bringing an added level of functionality, safety and security to the property, LiftMaster introduced the Residential Solar Gate Operator (Model LA412). Concurrently meeting the environmentally-friendly demands of the marketplace, the LA412 solar-powered gate operator qualifies under the Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit, affording homeowners the opportunity to apply for 30 percent off the total installed cost.
Professionally installed and designed for residential applications where a power source is not convenient or available, this enhanced addition to the LiftMaster family of swing gate operators is outfitted with a 12VDC motor, which provides exceptional torque as well as soft start and stop operation. Capable of operating residential gates up to 16 feet long and weighing up to 550 pounds, the LA412 dependably performs using the EverCharge® Power Management System. Using two included "on board" batteries, this innovative technology ensures this solar charged system only draws energy from the batteries when operating the gate, minimizing the power consumption when not in use.
Engineered with a control board featuring improved solar panel input, the LA412 delivers more power to the batteries when needed, maximizes the energy received from the sun at anytime, and also ensures not to overcharge the batteries, resulting in faster battery recovery time as well as industry-leading reliability and performance.

The LA412 comes standard with one 10W Solar Panel, which is engineered to maximize the efficiency of the solar input and is appropriate for most residential applications. If multiple panels are needed due to increased cycle rates for a specific application, the number of panels can be increased to provide a solar powered solution for any residential gate installation.
An additional standard feature is The Protector System®, which initiates a safety reversing sensor if the gate is obstructed during the opening or closing stage, addressing the safety concerns of residential property and homeowners. For added flexibility and safety, the LiftMaster Residential Solar Gate Operator is outfitted with a keyed manual disconnect and is also compatible with LiftMaster garage door openers. |
