The tools for instant and effective communication are now in everyone's hands, empowering people to interact with each other more frequently from anywhere, at anytime. Whether via cell phones, PDAs with email capability, GPS systems built into our cars - and sometimes even into our pets - or the ability to search the internet whenever the need arises, as technological advancements saturate the marketplace, consumers continue to grow accustomed to the ability to quickly, efficiently and conveniently communicate with each other.

Motivated by this trend, Chamberlain®, the world's largest garage door opener manufacturer and leading do-it-yourself access control innovator is offering an entire line of wireless intercom systems that are affordable, convenient and easy-to-install. Homeowners can grant immediate access to guests and instantly speak to others throughout the home with a touch of a finger by using one or a series of interconnected intercoms, taking communication in the home to a whole new level.

The Chamberlain wireless intercoms are designed to operate from batteries full time. This means that they are always on, constantly available, and engineered to conserve battery power when not in use, delivering years of uninterrupted service. In addition, without the physical limitation of expensive wiring, Chamberlain wireless intercoms are easy to set up and use, affording homeowners the freedom to completely customize how they want their communication systems to run and live within the home or outside of it.

Available as units that are installed to permanently reside in one location within the home, or as portable units that can be easily transported from room-to-room or anywhere within 1,000 feet of each other, Chamberlain intercom systems are also the only expandable wireless intercoms available, allowing homeowners to add intercoms to multiple locations such as additional rooms within the home, garage, backyard, pool area, basement or attic.

"Whether used for safety, security or convenience, intercoms can benefit most any home atmosphere," states Rob D'Amico, Product Manager, Chamberlain Wireless Products. "Our family of wireless intercoms allow today's homeowner to bring the same convenience they've come to expect when they’re on the go – helping to keep their household activities running smoothly and safely without any unsightly equipment or wires."

Customized Connectivity In addition to the flexibility provided by the portable wireless intercom units in terms of installation and location within the home, they are also designed to complement the look and feel of each homeowner's décor. For example, the NLS2 model conveys a more luxurious, upscale appearance that blends in with today's tech-friendly, contemporary homes. The weather-resistant engineering of model NTD2 is designed with a heavier emphasis on durability and outdoor use to ensure the unit continues to function rain or shine. In addition, the portable model NDIS operates as a wireless doorbell intercom, allowing the homeowner to speak with guests at the front door from anywhere in the home.

Regardless of which model the homeowner selects for their specific needs, each intercom by Chamberlain features crystal clear two-way 900MHz digital communication as well as base units with hands-free listening and hands-free answering. Each base station and intercom is powered by AA batteries, though if preferred, the base station can be plugged in with an AC adapter for a longer life. Backed by a one-year warranty, these models are available at home improvement stores and online retailers, or at www.chamberlain.com for a suggested retail price ranging from $80 - $210 depending on model preferences.
